With the FlexTop series, Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers configurable temperature transmitters communicating either with a standard 4 to 20 mA output, a HART or a Profibus PA interface. The devices are suitable for the food and beverage industry, pharmaceutical and biological technologies, chemical and petrochemical industry as well as for heating, ventilation and air condition applications.

The FlexTop 2201 is a low-cost Pt100 transmitter which comes at an even more attractive price in a 30 piece packaging. With the universal FlexTop versions 2211, 2221 and 2231, the input can be configured for resistance thermometer as well as for thermocouples, resistance sensors and current or voltage signals. The built-in temperature sensor or a remote Pt100 sensor can be used to compensate for cold junctions (CJC) if thermocouples are connected. The universal transmitters have a galvanic isolation between input and output. Their accuracy is at 0.1°C.

FlexTop 2201, 2211 and 2221 can be configured with the new FlexProgrammer 9701. Different parameters like linearisation, damping and status indication can be set up. With the FlexTop 2221, the HART protocol enables online process calibration and adjustment, transmitter configuration and multiple process control in 2-wire networks.

With the FlexTop 2231, these functions are carried out with the Profibus communication. Additionally, it is fully configurable via Simatic PDM software.

The FlexTop is embedded in silicone rubber and therefore resistant to humidity. Due to the ATEX approval, all models are suitable for applications in hazardous areas.

Baumer’s FlexTop is also available as OEM version with the customer’s name, logo and type number. Alternatively, the transmitters can be supplied for DIN-rail mounting. The FlexTop 2201 is available in a special version for Pt500.
